Part 4 | State Data Privacy Laws

We now have over 20 state data privacy laws as well as 3 state laws for a new category of personal data called “consumer health data.”  State regulators are gearing up for aggressive enforcement and the new regulations are even more prescriptive than the statutes.  Regulators are giving themselves easy tools for auditing compliance by requiring data protection and risk assessment reports.
